The Tution Deferment Plan is available to students whose employers offer tuition reimbursement. The plan permits students to delay payment of the employer's percentage of the current semester tuition cost until 45 days from the end of the semester. Students are required to pay their portion of tuition cost not covered by employer by the start of the term. The plan requires the following:

  1. The completion of a Deferment Plan application each semester.
  2. Payment of a $60.00 deferred payment fee at the time of the application.
  3. A letter from your employer stating the terms of the tuition reimbursement policy and approximate time frame in which your employer will make payment (no later than 45 days from the end of the semester). This letter is due by the second week of the semester

Statement of Responsibility

am applying for Shimer College's Tuition Deferment Plan. I recognize that employer's tuition reimbursement plan has qualifying conditions which I must meet in order to be reimbursed. Should my company refuse to pay this bill within the usual time frame for tuition deferment, I will be personally responsible for this tuition and will be required to pay the bill in full. I also understand that a deferred payment fee of $60.00 will be due at the time of application. If the tuition due under this agreement is not paid within 45 days following the end of the semester or quarter, I authorize my employer to withhold the amount due from my pay and to pay that amount to Shimer College.
