1. Interested students should submit a petition to the Office of Educational Services at IIT requesting permission to complete a course at Shimer College. Requests will be reviewed by Educational Services and the appropriate academic dean.

3. Once the student petition is approved, students consult their academic adviser regarding approval of course schedule, including Shimer College courses.

4. Then, the student should submit an application for Admission to Shimer College.

5. Finally, the student needs to register for the Shimer College course. IIT students will not be required to pay any special fees or tuition for courses completed at Shimer College. Tuition charges will be handled at the institutional level. Registration for IIT students at Shimer will take place during open registration.
