The minimum requirement for admission into the TFP program is successful completion of a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university. Certified teachers are strongly encouraged to apply, though teaching experience is not required for acceptance into the program. Applicants will be considered on an individual basis with particular attention given to their personal statement and interview.

After you fill out your application, you must complete it with the following:

1. Application fee of $25 by check or money order made payable to Shimer College.
2. Official transcript from that College or University from which you received your most recent degree (Once you are accepted, and if you are applying for Federal financial aid, transcripts for all your college-level work will be needed).
3. An interview, which may be conducted on the Shimer campus or, if necessary, by telephone.
4. A Personal Statement briefly describing how you hope the Teaching Fellows Program will help you as a teacher.
