Many companies and foundations will double or even triple the value of charitable gifts made by employees and their spouses, board members, and retirees.

If you are affiliated with a company or foundation that matches gifts, please initiate a matching gift claim by following your organization's procedures. If a form is required, please send a completed and signed form along with your gift. If you've already made your gift, you can still apply for a claim. Simply mail your completed form to:

With your authorization, Shimer can debit your checking account once per month in the amount you designate. To sign up, please contact the Office of Advancement at (312) 235-3545.

Shimer College employees can make charitable contributions to the college by payroll deduction, simply contact the Business Office.

If you would like to donate personal property to Shimer College, please contact the Office of Advancement. Some gifts require appraisal or advance approval in order to be accepted. Examples of property donated to Shimer include tickets to athletic events, laboratory equipment, art work, machinery, computer equipment, and software.

In addition to annual support gifts, many alumni and supporters include Shimer in their estate plans. These gifts can have significant tax benefits for the donor and insure Shimer’s future. Call the Advancement Office for assistance in designing a planned gift investment.
