Shimer Graduate Looking for Internship/Work Opportunities

Trevor Griffin ‘14 – Publishing/Creative Businesses

“Hello Fellow Alumni and Friends of Shimer,

My name is Trevor Griffith and I’d like to reach out to our little association in the hope of finding a good opportunity this summer.  I just graduated in May, and will be traveling to Spain in late September to teach English there for a year.  That leaves me with a few months of free time and I’d like to put them to good use.  I am a writer.  I write fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and essays.  Eventually I hope to get into journalism.  But for the time being, I’d like to become a little more closely acquainted with the publishing industry and am hoping that someone somewhere in our alumni association would be willing to extend the hand of experience and help teach me about this world.  Or, if it isn’t publishing exactly, I’d like to work for a time at the intersection between the creative moment and the impact that moment has on the world – the business side of art, in other words.  So if you or someone you know would be willing to offer me an internship or assistant position, please do let me know.  I’m a hardworking, fast-learning young man with a freshly minted bachelor’s degree and all the skills with which Shimer so excellently fashions its students.  And I would be deeply grateful for any opportunities you might be able provide.

Sincerely and with Kind Regards,

Trevor Griffith”
