Shimer College is pleased to announce the fourth annual
Michel de Montaigne Scholars' Competition

The Michel de Montaigne Scholarship will be awarded to students new to Shimer on the basis of students' merit in writing and discussion--the kind that Shimer students undertake every day. The scholarship honors Michel de Montaigne, the French Renaissance author and essayist.
What: Two full-tuition and two half-tuition renewable scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year.
When: Saturday, February 13 or Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 9:30am to 4:00pm
Where: Shimer College, 3424 S. State Street, Chicago, Illinois 60616
You may participate if you:
- Submit a complete application for admission as soon as possible. You can apply online or download an application here. A complete application includes:

- Essays or writing samples
- Letter of recommendation from a teacher or a guidance counselor
- High school transcripts
- $25 application fee
- Completed Application Form
- Submit a scholarship application either online or via mail as soon as possible . If submitting via mail, please send the application to Shimer College Montaigne Scholarship Competition, 3424 S. State Street, Chicago, IL, 60616.
- Plan to complete a FAFSA. (Students who are awarded Federal or State Grants may have their Shimer Scholarship adjusted if the combined amount of all aid exceeds the cost of tuition.)
