| March 7, 2005 Peter Temes, President of Antioch New England Graduate School, to speak at May 2005 Graduation Peter Temes, President of Antioch New England Graduate School, will be the guest speaker at ShimerCollege’s May 2005 graduation ceremonies. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 3pm. Dr. Temes is a past president of the Great Books Foundation and a former member of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at HarvardUniversity. He writes regularly on education, ethics, and war issues for a range of publications including the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle and Education Week. He is the author of three books, including The Just War: An American Reflection on the Morality of War in Our Time, and Against School Reform (and in Praise of Great Teaching). He is editor of two volumes, including Teaching Leadership: Essays in Theory and Practice. Peter holds a Ph.D. and three master’s degrees from ColumbiaUniversity. He has lectured on literature, ethics, and education in the U.S., Europe and Asia, and has taught at ColumbiaUniversity, the University of Chicago, and the NewSchool for Social Research.
