| May 22, 2004 First Certificates Awarded To Graduates In Foundations Of Science Program The first graduates of the Foundations of Science program received their certificates of completion at the May 22, 2004 Spring Commencement. This graduate program is designed to meet criteria set by the Illinois Board of Education to promote scientific literacy among elementary and middle school teachers. Its purpose is to demystify science, provide insights into its nature and language, and reignite an appreciation of the wonders of the natural world. Course titles include Geometry & Cosmology, Evolution and Life, and Atomic Nature of Matter. Participants who complete all five courses in the Program receive a Certificate of Completion. |
