| October 26, 2005 ShimerCollege Presents Chekhov's 'Uncle Vanya' The ShimerCollege theater group will perform Anton Chekhov's classic play ‘Uncle Vanya’ on November 10-12 and 17-19. All performances are at 8 p.m. in the Shimer College Theater General admission is $5, and tickets for seniors and students are $3.00. ‘Uncle Vanya’ takes place in rural Russia around 1900. Like all of Chekhov's plays, it portrays the human condition as simultaneously tragic and comic. Both the characters and the audience find themselves crying one moment and laughing the next. |
